Residency Details at a Glance

Resident artists are awarded:

  • Cash Stipend

  • Exhibition in Spring 2027 at the International Arts Center

  • Studio Space

  • Meals

  • Private Housing

  • Access to departmental facilities in the Department of Art and Design at Troy University.

Equipment and Facilities

Resident artist will have shared access to department facilities:

  • photography: darkroom and lighting studio

  • printmaking: intaglio, screen-printing and relief processes

  • woodworking lab

  • ceramics lab

  • computer lab

  • digital 3D: laser cutter, 3D printing, 4x4 Makerbot CNC router

  • light metalworking studio

  • painting and drawing studios

Spring 2026

The residency will be three weeks, and scheduled during the Spring 2026 semester.

Exhibition Opportunities

Resident Artists will be awarded an exhibition at the International Arts Center in Spring 2027

Artist Responsibilities

In addition to being a member of our community during the residency, the Resident Artist will be responsible to limited public engagement. Possibilities could include open studios, an artist talk, workshop, or site visit.

Alabama Connection

Priority is given to artists who demonstrate a strong connection to Alabama. This could include current or previous residency or family heritage.
